Trainee Managed Services Engineer

As a Trainee Managed Services Engineer, you take your first (or second) step into the world of managed services. You will work with experienced engineers, third-line specialists, and the service desk, learning daily how to help customers with stable, secure, and smart IT environments. You will be given the space to grow, ask questions, and further develop your technical knowledge.

You will learn to work with issues related to LAN, WLAN, Security, IPAM, and UC. Together with your colleagues, you will analyze incidents, brainstorm solutions, and perform technical tasks. Where necessary, you will receive guidance and coaching – this is how you grow step by step towards more independence.

Your day could look like this

In the morning, you start with a daily stand-up: what's happening with our customers and who is handling what? Then you get to work on tickets, observing and assisting in resolving issues. You will learn how to recognize risks in networks and how to mitigate them.

After lunch, you will help investigate a monitoring alert: why are certain access points offline? You will contact the customer, investigate the cause with another supplier, and implement a structural solution. If you are on standby (always with an experienced colleague), you will calmly prepare for any incidents.

Qualifications

• MBO/HBO work and thinking level (preferably ICT-oriented);
• Basic knowledge of network technology (such as switching, routing, firewalls and/or wireless) or the strong motivation to learn this quickly;
• Interest in certifications such as Cisco CCNA, HPE or Fortinet (we will help you with this);
• A service-oriented, eager to learn and proactive attitude;
• Good communication skills towards colleagues and customers;
• You are a team player and want to continue growing in knowledge and experience;
• Good command of the Dutch and English language;
• Willingness to participate in the standby service (eventually and supervised).

Upon commencement of employment, we will ask you to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG).
