Trainer & Technical Translator (FR to EN & EN to FR)

Overview

We are seeking a bilingual Trainer III / Technical Translator to support instructor-led training programs by providing real-time translation between English and French Canadian. This role is critical in ensuring effective communication, knowledge transfer, and workforce development across diverse training environments.

The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in both languages, comfortable in live training settings, and capable of translating technical materials with accuracy and clarity.

Core Technical Skills

Required Skills

• Fluency in English and French Canadian (spoken and written)
• Experience with live translation / interpretation in training or technical environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to translate technical training materials, manuals, and guides
• Familiarity with curriculum and training delivery methods
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting Instructor-Led Training (ILT) sessions
• Exposure to technical or industrial training environments
• Understanding of learning methodologies and adult education principles
• Knowledge of media production and content delivery methods

Nice to Have

• Background in human behavior, learning, and performance principles
• Experience with interactive training formats (role-play, simulations, group discussions)
• Prior experience in manufacturing or engineering environments

Key Responsibilities

• Provide real-time translation (English ↔ French Canadian) during instructor-led technical training sessions
• Translate training materials, manuals, and visual content
• Support learners by ensuring clarity and comprehension during training programs
• Assist in delivering training using various formats (e.g., simulations, discussions, lectures, videos)
• Collaborate with training teams to ensure accurate and effective communication
