About This Position:
We are excited to welcome an experienced Transit Project Lead (Engineer or Planner) with over ten years of expertise to join our dynamic multi-modal transportation group. This role will be instrumental in various projects, collaborating with traffic engineers, highway engineers, transportation planners, and our valued clients. Focus areas include planning and infrastructure related to bus transportation, encompassing transportation and transit planning, station design, highway design, facilities and site design, alternatives analysis, concept development, and construction coordination. This position may occasionally require working outside normal business hours for travel, client engagements, and meetings. A strong commitment to enhancing public transportation systems is highly desirable.
Your Responsibilities will Include:
- Investigating opportunities to boost bus service efficiency and proposing network redesign strategies.
- Experience in bus rapid transit systems.
- Evaluating bus operations to pinpoint cost-reduction opportunities.
- Designing bus facilities, including maintenance yards and bus stops.
- Leading intermediate and complex transportation planning or engineering projects.
- Collaborating on multidisciplinary projects involving architecture, mechanical, and structural engineering disciplines.
- Preparing conceptual plans, graphics, and project documentation.
- Leading project and public meetings.
- Writing detailed reports.
- Representing the organization in various communications and conferences focused on Public Transportation planning and engineering.
- Handling client relations and financial management of projects.
- Developing and reviewing project documents for scope, quality, and compliance.
- Managing project staffing, scope, schedule, and budget development.
- Engaging in business development activities, including proposal writing.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Professional licensure and/or certifications in planning and engineering fields (AICP, PE).
- Proven experience in public transportation projects, particularly with New York State public transportation authorities is a plus, along with FTA experience.
- Active membership in a relevant professional practice organization.
Pay Range:
Albany, NY / Syracuse, NY: $45/hour - $67/hour
Poughkeepsie, NY: $50/hour - $72/hour
White Plains, NY: $55/hour - $80/hour
Compensation is determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred).
Licenses & Certifications:
Professional Engineer (preferred).
AICP Certified Planner (preferred).
