About the role

General Mission

As a Turbomachinery Engineer within the Propulsion team, you will contribute to all development activities related to the fluid systems of turbopumps, from the initial design and simulation phase through to the assessment of deviations in manufactured parts, and ultimately to the validation of your work through test campaigns.

You will work closely with the Propulsion team, as well as with the Integration and Test teams. You will ensure that the turbopump systems developed by the company fully meet the specifications of the higher-level engine systems.

You will implement a rigorous verification and validation approach. You will also be responsible for collecting and centralizing the company’s calculation and design standards, processes, and lessons learned related to turbopump systems, ensuring their application across the department.

You will summarize and share the results of your analyses and simulations with the rest of the team so that they can build on them to further develop and improve their systems.

Main Activities

  • Perform the fluid calculations and simulations, including CFD analyses, required for the design of turbopump components.
  • Summarize your work in the form of technical reports and calculation notes in accordance with company standards.
  • Communicate the results of your analysis, highlighting the associated conclusions and recommendations.
  • Provide technical support for the development of integrated engine systems.
  • Define and plan the tests required to validate models and simulations.
  • Take part in turbomachinery system test campaigns, including preparation, monitoring, and results analysis.
  • Monitor changes to turbomachinery components and the related specifications at launcher system level.
  • Carry out technology watch activities on developments and advances in the field.

Your Profile

  • Proficiency in CFD simulation tools.
  • Good command of 0D / 1D models.
  • Experience in the design and sizing of rotating machinery, such as pumps and turbines.
  • Comfortable working with performance maps.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization for pumps and turbines.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Skills in 3D modelling / CAD.
  • Basic knowledge of structural mechanics and vibrations.
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Rigorous, analytical, and pragmatic approach.

You have 3 to 5 years of experience in turbomachinery, propulsion, or complex fluid systems. Experience in the space, aerospace, or energy sector would be a plus.
