About the role
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on conventional lathes
- Strong understanding of machining techniques and tool geometry
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working with a variety of materials (steel, aluminium, brass, plastics)
Key Responsibilities
- Operate conventional lathes for turning, facing, boring, threading, and taper work
- Set up workpieces using chucks, collets, and centres
- Select and adjust cutting tools, feeds, and speeds
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting
Quality & Safety
- Measure components using precision instruments
- Ensure adherence to tolerances and surface finish requirements
- Complete job cards and inspection sheets
- Comply with ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 45001 (safety) standards
- Follow PPE and safe handling procedures
