UI/UX Design Lead

Our client is looking for a visionary and experienced UI/UX Design Lead to spearhead their creative and digital initiatives in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NG. This role is responsible for guiding the design process from concept to implementation, ensuring the creation of intuitive, engaging, and aesthetically pleasing user interfaces and experiences for web and mobile applications. You will lead a team of designers, collaborate closely with product managers and developers, and champion user-centered design principles throughout the organization. The ideal candidate possesses a strong portfolio, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of modern design trends and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design strategy and execution for user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) across all digital products.
• Manage and mentor a team of UI/UX designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Conduct user research, persona development, and usability testing to inform design decisions.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups.
• Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency and quality.
• Collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to translate requirements into exceptional user experiences.
• Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices across the organization.
• Oversee the visual design elements, including layout, typography, color palettes, and iconography.
• Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders, clearly articulating design rationale.
• Stay abreast of the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and technologies.
• Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the design team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in UI/UX design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• A strong portfolio showcasing expertise in UI/UX design for web and mobile applications.
• Proven experience leading design projects from conception to launch.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, or similar.
• Solid understanding of user research methodologies, usability testing, and interaction design principles.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• A keen eye for visual design and attention to detail.
• Passion for creating user-centered, innovative digital experiences.

This role is based in our office in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NG, requiring regular on-site presence for team collaboration and project oversight.
