About
The Information Systems Department of the University defines and implements the information system for managing the various activities of the University of Limoges: support for training, research, support processes (finance, HR management) and steering.
As such, it is responsible for defining, implementing and managing the technical resources necessary for the information and communication system and for planning its evolution.
The IT department brings together and coordinates all university staff working on the information system, representing about fifty employees spread across five services (Infrastructure Service, Support Service, Digital Tools Service, Applications Service, and Corréziens Sites Service).
Your missions
As part of motivating projects using the latest technologies, you will be integrated into the Applications Service of the IT Department, which is responsible for project management and support for support services (finance, HR, steering, etc.) and assists project owners before and after projects.
In this context, the activities related to the Data Scientist function that have been identified are:
- Participate in the feeding and maintenance of ODS and DWH environments
- Contribute to the integration of data from business applications (databases, files, existing IS)
- Ensure the quality, consistency, and reliability of data
- Participate in the implementation of connectors for integrating existing databases (SAP, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, various files)
- Contribute to data feeding, transformation, and centralization processes
- Ensure the consistency and quality of consolidated data
- Design and provide reliable datasets for the production of indicators and dashboards
- Participate in the development of reports and visualization tools (Power BI) for steering the institution
- Collaborate with data stakeholders (Data Analysts, business teams) to meet analysis needs
- Collect and analyze user needs
- Support users in the use of tools and ensure documentation
- Contribute to data projects in conjunction with the team and the evolution of decision-support solutions
An integration and support period for the position is planned: in particular, training may be offered. Teleworking days will be possible after a period defined in consultation with the head of service.
Profile sought
- Minimum degree Bac +3
Operational skills
- Mastery of Power BI (modeling, DAX, visualization)
- Good knowledge of databases (SQL)
- Understanding of decision-support architectures (ODS, DWH)
- Knowledge of data integration (ETL) appreciated
- Writing documentation and supporting users
