About the role
Job Summary
- A Unit Accountant at Genesis Restaurants manages daily financial operations, cash handling, inventory accounting, and reporting at our locations.
- Key duties include auditing cash, performing daily bank lodgements, tracking sales, managing invoices, and reconciling inventory in ERP systems (like Sage) to ensure profitability and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash and Treasury Management: Ensure safe handling, reconciliation, and daily bank lodgement of all cash receipts.
- Inventory Accounting: Reconcile inventory records with physical stock counts to manage cost variances.
- Financial Reporting: Post daily sales, expenses, invoices, and transfers into ERP software.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage vendor payments and monitor accounts receivable at the unit level.
- Auditing and Compliance: Conduct routine audits of financial records, adhere to QSR accounting standards, and manage document control.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze unit profitability, monitor costs, and report variances to management.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Banking, or Finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, Sage ERP) and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity for cash management.
- Cash Handling & Reconciliation: Essential for QSR daily operations.
- Cost Control: Monitoring waste and inventory efficiency.
- Time Management: Meeting daily/weekly reporting deadlines.
