PMO Coordinator

About

A leading organisation in Somerset West, Western Cape is seeking a PMO Coordinator to lead and deliver strategic projects. You will define project scope and objectives, develop detailed plans, manage budgets and resources, and ensure delivery on time and within scope. A certified project management professional with a strong track record is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate regular project status meetings and prepare progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholder groups.
• Estimate and manage project budgets and resources, tracking actual expenditure against forecasts and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage project changes through a formal change control process, assessing impact on scope, schedule, and budget before approval.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders and develop comprehensive project charters and plans.
• Manage relationships with project stakeholders including clients, sponsors, team members, and vendors, ensuring clear communication.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules using project management software, identifying critical path activities and tracking progress.

Requirements

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to make sound judgements under pressure.
• Strong financial acumen including experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for projects.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills to motivate and direct cross-functional project teams.
• A minimum of five to seven years of experience in managing projects of increasing complexity in the relevant industry sector.
• Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, or Monday.com for planning and tracking.
• A recognised project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or CAPM from an accredited certification body.
• Strong understanding of both waterfall and agile project management methodologies with ability to apply the appropriate approach.
