Our client is a tech forward bookkeeping firm that helps small business owners make smarter decisions through timely, accurate, and reliable financial data. They focus on bookkeeping, compliance, and advisory support, delivering clean, tax ready books to their clients’ CPAs without handling year end tax returns or tax planning. By using cloud based software and third party integrations, they streamline processes and eliminate manual data entry. Their approach combines modern tools with industry best practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency. United by a shared vision, they balance passion and flexibility while supporting the small business community with clarity and care.focus on growth. • *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping tasks in accordance with best practices, including expense and income entry, bank feed categorization, invoicing, journal entries, loan amortizations, bank reconciliations, payroll cost allocations, month-end accruals, preliminary financial reporting, year-end reconciliations, and 1099 preparation and filing. • Manage accounts receivable and payable, including AR follow-ups, AP reconciliations, and collecting W-9s from subcontractors as needed. • Organize and maintain client records and supporting documents using the firm’s online portal, following established naming conventions and digital filing protocols. • Prepare and submit city and state-level revenue reports, and assist with business licensing and registrations for clients in various jurisdictions. • Support clients in meeting their compliance obligations by clearly explaining their role in the bookkeeping, payroll, and licensing processes. • Set up and process payroll, including configuring benefits, tracking paid time off, and ensuring accurate timekeeping systems are in place and monitored. • Maintain clear, well-organized documentation and work papers that explain processes and support financial data, ensuring all work is traceable and easy to follow. • Accurately track and log billable hours while following internal workflows and documentation procedures. • Manage your workload independently, meet deadlines consistently, and proactively communicate status updates, challenges, or support needs to the team. • *QUALIFICATIONS** • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field • At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in a US firm, including expense and income entries, bank feed categorization, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end reporting • Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO); QuickBooks certification preferred or willingness to complete within 90 days of hire (training access provided) • Familiarity with US payroll systems; prior experience with Gusto or similar platforms a plus, with willingness to learn end-to-end payroll processing • Comfortable working with cloud-based tools including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Drive, Voice), Dext, Gusto, and other collaborative platforms such as Loom, Calendly, and e-signature tools • Strong process documentation skills with the ability to prepare clear, well-organized work papers and track work consistently • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate transparently with c
