An industrial operation is seeking an experienced Utilities & Energy Engineer to oversee the performance, reliability, and optimisation of site-wide infrastructure systems. This role is suited to someone who combines technical depth with operational ownership, and who enjoys working across power, water, and supporting systems in a live production environment.
The Opportunity
You’ll take responsibility for ensuring that critical infrastructure systems operate efficiently, reliably, and safely — while identifying opportunities to improve performance and reduce operating costs. The role spans operations, maintenance, optimisation, and project implementation, with direct involvement in both day-to-day activities and longer-term improvements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the performance and availability of site-wide utility systems
- Monitor system data and identify areas for improvement or optimisation
- Implement corrective actions to address performance issues
- Manage preventative and corrective maintenance programmes
- Maintain accurate asset and maintenance records
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability
- Support upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects
- Manage operational budgets and track expenditure
- Coordinate external service providers and contractors
- Prepare operational and performance reports for management
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Solid experience in industrial utilities, power systems, or plant infrastructure
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution, control systems, and plant operations
- Experience working with monitoring systems and performance data
- Exposure to energy optimisation or efficiency initiatives
- Ability to manage both technical and operational responsibilities
