About the role

Your Role

  • Support UX initiatives and contribute to user-centered design practices across the ASF UX Factory
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UX, product, engineering) to understand user needs and translate them into design solutions
  • Assist in creating wireframes, user flows, journey maps, and low- and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Participate in user research activities including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations
  • Analyze research findings and help identify usability issues and opportunities for improvement
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback, testing results, and stakeholder input
  • Contribute to and help maintain design systems, pattern libraries, and reusable components
  • Ensure designs follow accessibility (Section 508 / WCAG) and usability best practices
  • Assist in documenting UX processes, design decisions, and guidelines
  • Stay curious and engaged with evolving UX trends, tools, and methodologies

About You

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in User Experience, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Design, Information Architecture, or Computer Science (UX-focused track)
  • Foundational understanding of UX principles and user-centered design
  • Exposure to UX activities such as research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
  • Basic understanding of interaction design, visual hierarchy, and layout principles
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Desired: Exposure to design systems or component libraries
  • Desired: Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, or front‑end concepts
  • Desired: Familiarity with Agile or iterative development environments

Compensation & Benefits
