UX Specialist

About

You will lead user-centered design efforts and interface directly with customers to translate technical requirements into intuitive interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Execute interaction and interface design using user-centered methods and user analysis.
• Document user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendations.
• Design and conduct formative usability tests in both formal and informal settings.
• Prepare and present design findings and recommendations to small and large groups.
• Communicate technical topics clearly to stakeholders on a daily basis.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of direct interaction/interface design experience using user-centered methods.
• 6+ years of experience documenting user requirements and screen designs.
• 4+ years of experience conducting formative usability testing.
• 4+ years of experience presenting findings to stakeholder groups.
• Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of professional experience.
• Ability to provide a digital portfolio of design work.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Must reside within two hours of Woodlawn, MD, and work on-site at least 2 days a week.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with Axure RP and AdobeXD prototyping software.
• Experience with ServiceNow, Pega, or Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of responsive design, Section 508 requirements, and government agency support.
• UX Certifications such as NN/g UX Master or General Assembly UX Design Immersive.
