About the team: We are a multidisciplinary team of Product Designers and UX Writers, collaborating in cross-functional squads to build products that empower millions to safely and confidently explore the world of cryptocurrency. Design has a proud legacy at Luno, and we’re excited to welcome a UX Writer who shares our passion for great design and is ready to make a meaningful impact.

The role in a nutshell: As a junior UX Writer on the Product Design team, your primary focus will be crafting product copy that helps customers complete tasks and reach their financial goals easily and confidently. You’ll work alongside experienced UX Writers and Product Designers to create clear, helpful, and human language that enhances usability and accessibility across our product. This is a junior-level role designed for someone early in their UX career with foundational copywriting experience. You’ll gain hands-on experience with design systems, content testing, and product development processes.

Your mission will involve

Writing clear, concise, and user-focused interface copy for Luno’s web and mobile products — including screen flows, buttons, labels, empty states, and error messages.

Collaborating with UX Writers, Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to shape the overall user experience through language.

Contributing to the evolution of Luno’s content design system (Matter), with a focus on reusable content patterns and voice guidelines.

Applying design thinking principles to writing: understanding the problem, testing solutions, and iterating based on feedback.

Participating in user research, usability testing, and A/B experiments to inform and validate content decisions.

Advocating for content clarity and consistency across the product.

Learning how to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints through collaborative product work. A little about you:

2–3 years of professional writing experience, ideally including experience or strong interest in UX writing, content design, or writing for digital products.

A portfolio (or samples) showcasing thoughtful interface copy, writing for product experiences, or related projects.

A basic understanding of user-centered design and how words contribute to intuitive, accessible user journeys.

Familiarity with tools like Figma, Miro and User Testing, or a willingness to learn.

A growth mindset: open to feedback, hungry to learn, and excited to contribute.

An interest in fintech, crypto, or complex problem spaces, and a drive to make them more understandable for everyday users.

Strong attention to detail and solid writing, editing, and proofreading skills

Familiarity with creating content for software interfaces, including web and mobile applications.

A collaborative, curious mindset, eager to learn and understand the needs of users and stakeholders.

Ability to work collaboratively across product, engineering, and potentially marketing teams.

A degree in a relevant field (writing, communication, design, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.

Experience working on digital products or software interfaces is a plus

Critical Thinking: Provides evidence of clear analytical thinking. Gets to the heart of complex problems and issues. Applies own expertise effectively. Quickly learns new technology.

Communicating well in writing and can explain complex technical analysis to a non-technical audience.

Creative Thinking: Open to new ideas and experiences.

Delivers Results: Focuses on results and achieving personal work objectives. Works best when work is related closely to results and the impact of personal efforts is obvious. In your first six months you will:

Onboard into your fleet and pod.

Dive into the world of crypto and get up to speed with the industry
