Vice President Accounting

About

The Vice President Accounting will lead North American accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic partnership with senior leadership. This role oversees multi-entity US and Canadian accounting functions, drives process improvements, and manages a team of accounting professionals while coordinating with shared service centers and external advisors.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and management for a team of 7-8 accounting professionals.
• Oversee end-to-end monthly close for Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss across US and Canada.
• Ensure monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, fixed assets, intercompany, stock, accruals, and payroll.
• Manage relationships and workflows with the Shared Service Center for accounts payable and receivable.
• Lead treasury activities including bank reconciliations, cash flow analysis, and loan management.
• Manage external tax advisors and oversee income tax, sales and use tax compliance, and audits.
• Direct transfer pricing audits and external financial audits ensuring documentation and coordination.
• Implement and monitor internal control procedures to mitigate financial risks.
• Support special projects and drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of progressive accounting experience with significant leadership responsibility.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
• Experience managing multi-entity and international accounting operations across US and Canada.
• Proven expertise with ERP systems; Microsoft AX experience preferred.
• Prior experience in luxury retail, fashion, or beauty industries preferred.
• Strong leadership, team development, and strategic thinking skills.
• High level of accuracy, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to present financial insights to senior management.
