VP of Accounting

A leading real estate company with a property management business is seeking a VP of Accounting. This senior executive will oversee all property-level accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, GAAP compliance, and operational efficiency. The VP leads an accounting team and serves as a key strategic partner to executive leadership, reporting directly to the CFO. In addition to internal leadership responsibilities, this role is highly client-facing and acts as a senior escalation point for accounting-related matters, maintaining and strengthening client relationships through proactive communication, issue resolution, and effective de-escalation of complex or sensitive financial issues. The ideal candidate brings deep accounting expertise in real estate or fee-managed property environments, and proven experience leading accounting teams and managing client-facing financial operations in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field (CPA preferred and MBA degree a plus).
• 8+ yrs of progressive experience in senior leadership roles within the relevant industry.
