Video Platform SRE / Backend Operations Engineer

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and operational readiness of backend video platforms, including customer onboarding, authentication, streaming, and content delivery systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor service health, alerts, and dashboards using tools like Splunk and Datadog
• Support production deployments, release validation, and post-release checks
• Troubleshoot production issues related to video streaming, entitlements, middleware, and customer access
• Validate data flows across customer systems, middleware, and video platforms
• Ensure operational readiness of video services including VOD, DVR, and channel lineups
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
• Provision and support backend services on Amazon Web Services
• Work with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes

Required Skills

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Splunk, Datadog, ELK)
• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS)
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of video streaming workflows and backend systems
• Experience in deployments, release operations, and system validation

Preferred Skills

• Experience with video platforms (VOD, live streaming, DVR)
• Capacity planning and scalability assessment
• System architecture review and service design validation
