VP, Agentic AI Engineering

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a VP of Agentic AI Engineering to lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of our Agentic AI systems. This role is responsible for converting cutting-edge AI capabilities into production-ready, scalable products that deliver measurable business impact at market-leading quality and velocity, by instituting state-of-the-art Software Development best practices.

In this role, you will work closely with Product, Engineering, Applied AI, and our GTM team members to design and deploy autonomous AI agents, multi-agent decisioning optimization systems, and applied LLM solutions. You will balance velocity with reliability and scalability, ensuring our products are cutting-edge, performant, and trusted in real-world environments.

This role requires deep technical expertise, strong product and business intuition and systems thinking for scale, and the ability to translate complex AI concepts into clear outcomes.

YOUR KEY DELIVERABLES

First three months:

• Transform Afiniti’s software development practices to a state-of-the-art AI-forward Software Development Life Cycle, enabling Afiniti to operate in the elite tier of companies that build best-in-class AI with best-in-class development practices.
• Build structured knowledge transfer and change management best practices that capture architectural decisions and codify institutional AI expertise into reusable frameworks and documentation, enabling Afiniti to reduce key-person dependency and compound its technical advantage.
• Establish a rigorous technical hiring bar and structured onboarding process for senior AI engineers, to enable Afiniti to build the AI-forward talent density needed to sustain high-velocity delivery without accumulating people risk.

First six months:

• Deliver Afiniti’s Agentic AI roadmap as highly scalable production systems, ensuring Afiniti’s full Agentic AI portfolio of products are launched ahead of or on time (aligned with the product roadmap) and with high quality (meeting launch acceptance criteria and key product and operational metrics).
• Establish evaluation frameworks, monitoring, safety guardrails, and reliability standards for AI systems, to ensure that we are building robust and responsible AI.
• Scale agentic AI capabilities across products and workflows, delivering clear operational and commercial impact at scale.

First 12 months:

• Deliver on a bar-raising technical roadmap that enables Afiniti’s next wave of scale and growth, enabling product and GTM teams to make commitments towards Afiniti’s next 10x growth cycle.
• Define and drive a consistent Afiniti integration standards across agentic products and an expanding partner base, enabling clients and partners to deploy and expand Afiniti's capabilities within their existing technology stacks without requiring bespoke professional services engagements.

WHO YOU ARE

• 10-15 years of experience in delivering AI, machine learning, or data science software products.
• Demonstrated experience transforming legacy product and engineering organizations into high-velocity efficient software development organizations through AI-first approaches.
• Proven track record of delivering applied AI systems for large-scale enterprises or regulated environments.
• Deep experience with LLMs, agentic AI architectures, autonomous agents, and RAG systems.
• Deep experience with multi-agent orchestration frameworks and AI infrastructure tooling.
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring senior technical teams.
• Strong communicator able to align technical teams and senior stakeholders.

NICE TO HAVE

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Computer Science, AI, or Machine Learning.

WHAT WE OFFER

Total Compensation:

• Base Salary: Up to $400,000
• Annual Performance Bonus: 25%
