VP Platform Engineering

What You’ll Bring: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degrees preferred • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in Java • Proven proficiency in Python within production or research environments • Extensive experience building and managing distributed systems • Strong background in microservices architecture, including tools such as search engines, caching, messaging queues, and relational databases • Solid understanding of engineering best practices—testing, code quality, documentation • Hands-on experience tuning and optimizing high-performance systems • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools and performance metrics • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, manage complexity, and collaborate across teams • An interest in financial markets is a plus

Nice to Have: • Experience working within financial services or investment domains • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) • Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment strategies • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Education and Experience: • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines • Over 7 years of progressively responsible software engineering roles • Prior experience leading technical teams and managing large-scale projects
