What will the Vice President of Sales & Marketing do?

As a direct report of CertiPath’s CEO, this executive leader will own the company’s overall go-to-market strategy, revenue performance, and brand presence. The VP will build and lead high-performing sales and marketing functions, expand market penetration in commercial and federal sectors, and drive significant revenue growth through customer acquisition, strategic partnerships, demand generation, and market development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy encompassing sales, marketing, and business development to achieve revenue targets and sustainable growth.
  • Self-Perform the sales role initially to achieve familiarity and early success. Then build, lead, mentor, and scale a high-performance sales team (account executives, business development) and marketing function (demand generation, content, events, digital, etc.).
  • Own the full sales process for major opportunities while providing executive sponsorship on strategic and/or complex deals presented to the executive Deal Committee.
  • Oversee all marketing activities, including campaign strategy, content marketing, webinars, social media, thought leadership, PR, branding, and lead generation programs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and penetrate new markets, customer segments, and partnership opportunities to expand CertiPath’s footprint.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor a robust sales pipeline with accurate forecasting; deliver consistent over-achievement of revenue and pipeline goals.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, customer needs, and campaign performance to inform product strategy, messaging, and executive decision-making.
  • Cultivate and maintain executive-level relationships with key end customers, system integrators, technology partners, and government stakeholders.
  • Lead complex proposal and bidding processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP) for large opportunities, coordinating cross-functionally while driving negotiations and contract closures.
  • Represent CertiPath at industry events, conferences, and high-visibility forums as a thought leader and company executive.
  • Partner closely with the executive team on business planning, budgeting, annual operating plans, and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with and lead integrated sales + marketing efforts, including joint campaigns, partner marketing, and events.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred).
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales and marketing, with at least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role (Director/VP level) overseeing both functions.
  • Proven track record of selling and marketing complex enterprise software, identity management, cybersecurity, or high-assurance solutions into commercial and federal/government markets.
  • Deep experience in the physical and logical access control space (PACS, credentialing, PKI/PKE).
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling integrated sales and marketing teams, processes, and pipelines that deliver predictable revenue growth.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent negotiation, presentation, storytelling, and communication skills.
  • Results-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and consistently exceeds revenue and growth targets.
  • Established network of high-level contacts in government agencies, system integrators, commercial enterprises, and industry media/analysts.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and multi-channel marketing programs in competitive, regulated markets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Top Secret or higher government clearance.
  • Direct background in PIV credentialing (FIPS 201-3 / NIST SP 800-73-4) and Public Key Enablement (PKE).
  • Experience with identity provider use cases and solutions
  • Experience with identity data and analytics
  • Experience with identity proofing and identity document validation
  • Experience selling FICAM solutions of any sort
  • Experience selling and marketing into emerging or rapidly evolving technology markets.
  • Proven ability to build brand visibility and generate high-quality pipeline in B2B and government sectors.
  • Hands-on experience with leading PACS platforms (Lenel OnGuard, Software House CCURE, Gallagher, etc.).
