VP/Director, Digital Product Manager - Financial Services Collections
Creative Circle
About the role
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, strategic VP/Director, Digital Product Manager with prior collections experience (product or operations) for our Collections division. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of innovative digital product strategies, ensuring our collections processes are efficient, customer-focused, and compliant with industry standards. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of collections and a commitment to leveraging data-driven insights to enhance customer experience and drive business results. You must have prior collections experience to be considered.
This role is Hybrid. You should be located within a commutable distance to one of our clients' offices located in (order of preference) Wilmington, DE, New York City, NY, Baltimore, MD, Charlotte, NC, Fort Worth, TX, or Irving, TX, with expectations of being in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the Collections product roadmap with a focus on reducing losses through improved contact rates, higher payment conversion, and re-delinquency prevention.
- Lead strategic initiatives across Digital Collections, including web and mobile experiences, push notifications, messaging, and the launch and scale of RCS as a newer customer engagement channel.
- Partner closely with Operations and field leadership to align strategy, execution, and tooling that support and enable approximately 6,000 frontline team members.
- Expand and optimize earlystage GenAI capabilities already in market to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and improved outcomes for both customers and internal teams.
- Leverage data, experimentation, and customer insights to prioritize initiatives, inform decisions, and measure success.
- Serve as a key cross-functional leader, clearly communicating strategy, decisions, risks, and progress to senior stakeholders.
- Lead and develop the existing product team, including three direct reports (Associate Director, Senior Manager, and seniorlevel contractor), maintaining strong execution, accountability, and team engagement.
- Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous problem spaces, balancing strategic thinking with practical, results-oriented execution.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Collections experience required (product or ops). Ops leaders (e.g., collections/call center leadership) are in scope; you need enough domain knowledge to ramp quickly (target: 1-2+ years in collections or a closely related area).
- Tenured thought leader + people leader who can set direction, build the roadmap, and deliver results.
- Relationship-first operator: strong at building and leveraging partnerships, especially with Ops and field teams (given the cross-functional nature of the work).
- High energy/drives outcomes: comfortable pushing the agenda forward in a complex environment.
- Exceptional communicator: concise, articulate, and executive-ready; clear framing and crisp decision-making.
- Comfort with ambiguity: curious, self-motivated, and able to create structure where there is no established playbook.
- Strong plus: experience with digital channels (mobile/web, notifications, messaging) and/or GenAI initiatives.
- Lower priority: deep technical build expertise; this role is not positioned as highly technical compared to other PM roles.
Qualifications
- Direct Collections experience is required (product or operations), with sufficient domain knowledge to ramp quickly (targeting 1-2+ years in Collections or a closely related area).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in collections or financial services, with a strong understanding of industry practices.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and market analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and leverage analytics for product improvement.
- Experience with agile product development methodologies.
- Track record of successful product management and roadmap planning.
