Gen AI Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on AI Engineer to work on a high-visibility Generative AI initiative focused on enterprise-scale document summarization and conversational AI. The platform will support large volumes of heterogeneous documents across multiple lines of business (LOBs).

This role is ideal for a self-starter with deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex data and AI applications, often leveraging emerging and cutting-edge technologies
• Architect and deliver enterprise-scale GenAI solutions, including summarization engines and chatbot applications
• Apply sound judgment in selecting methods, tools, and evaluation criteria within broadly defined practices and policies
• Provide technical leadership by owning deliverables, assigning work, and resolving complex technical issues
• Translate business strategy and requirements into actionable technical solutions
• Ensure solutions comply with model governance and risk management standards
• Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, IT partners, and external vendors

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Information Systems, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of overall IT experience, including leadership on complex enterprise initiatives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts
• 2+ years of hands-on experience delivering end-to-end Generative AI solutions
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT and LLaMA
• Expertise in MCP (skills-based orchestration) and agentic frameworks like LangGraph
• Proficiency with LLM frameworks including LangChain and LlamaIndex
• Experience with embedding models (e.g., all-MiniLM-L6-v2, nomic-ai)
• Familiarity with evaluation frameworks such as RAGAS, LangSmith, and Phoenix/Arize
• Strong experience building APIs using REST, FastAPI, and WebSockets
• Hands-on experience with enterprise data stores like Redis and MongoDB
• Advanced Python programming skills
• Frontend experience with Angular is a plus
• Hands-on experience with Model Risk Management and governance frameworks
• Experience delivering GenAI solutions aligned with governance and compliance standards
• Ability to author detailed model documentation
• Experience designing and implementing model monitoring and performance controls
• Exposure to distributed and big data technologies (Slurm, Hadoop/Hive, Spark, Kafka, Neo4j, MongoDB)
• Understanding of machine learning techniques, classifiers, and statistical methods
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in data science, mathematics, or a quantitative field
• Proven track record delivering high-value enterprise projects with clear cost, benefit, and risk articulation
• Strong collaboration, coaching, and stakeholder management skills across business and IT teams
• Passion for leveraging modern AI technologies to drive innovation, particularly in the finance domain
