Solutions Engineer, Warehouse Automation

Join Balyo as a key contributor in designing next-generation automated warehouse solutions for leading industrial and logistics customers across the Americas.

In this role, you will combine logistics consulting, warehouse design, and automation strategy to help customers transform their operations through scalable and innovative solutions. You will work closely with Sales, customers, and internal engineering teams to design operationally sound, financially viable, and technically executable warehouse concepts integrating Balyo robotic solutions.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in warehouse design, intralogistics consulting, or material handling system integration who enjoys solving complex operational challenges and collaborating directly with customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end warehouse and automation concepts for greenfield and brownfield operations, including storage strategies, material flows, automation integration, and operational processes.
• Analyze customer operational data (flows, SKU profiles, throughput, storage requirements) to model and recommend optimized warehouse solutions.
• Design warehouse layouts and automation concepts using AutoCAD or equivalent tools, integrating racking systems, conveyors, robotics, and related material handling technologies.
• Partner with Sales and Business Development teams during RFP/RFI and solution development phases to assess feasibility, define value propositions, and support customer presentations.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to evaluate alternative operational scenarios and develop cost-benefit analyses and ROI-driven recommendations.
• Support simulation and validation activities to ensure proposed solutions meet operational KPIs, throughput requirements, and long-term scalability objectives.
• Work cross-functionally with Delivery, Product, and R&D teams to ensure proposed concepts can be successfully implemented and maintained.
• Stay current on warehouse automation trends, emerging technologies, and logistics best practices to help drive innovation within Balyo’s solutions approach.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in warehouse design, logistics consulting, solutions engineering, or material handling integration.
• Experience designing or supporting automated warehouse solutions involving technologies such as conveyors, ASRS, AGVs/AMRs, shuttle systems, or storage solutions.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience working with operational and supply chain data (Excel required; SQL or simulation tools are a plus).
• Proficiency with layout and design tools such as AutoCAD, CAD, SketchUp, or similar.
• Strong communication and consulting skills with the ability to engage both operational teams and executive stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in customer-facing environments and collaborating across commercial and technical teams.
• Experience in logistics consulting firms, system integrators, 3PLs, or warehouse automation companies is highly valued.
• Willingness to travel (~25–35%) across the Americas.
