About the role

About elea

elea Lab is an AI laboratory information system for pathology: it orchestrates devices, automates documentation, and creates release-ready diagnostic reports — used daily in labs in Germany and the USA. We are AI-first: AI is not a feature, but a tool in every step — code, testing, documentation. You will build our AI-driven test pipeline — the system that secures every release of elea Lab on two continents. AI agents do the work, you are the architect and operator.

Your Responsibilities

  • Implement AI test pipeline: Build a pipeline where AI agents (Claude Code, Cursor, custom scripts) generate, execute, and report regressions for Maestro-based E2E tests — including orchestration, CI integration, and reporting.
  • Build test agents: Develop prompts, tools, and scripts that enable agents to derive test cases from changelogs, acceptance criteria, and bug reports — and iterate against measurable quality metrics.
  • Take responsibility for release quality: Ensure that the central workflows of elea Lab run reliably on two continents, and regressions are found before they go live.
  • Translate requirements into tests: Define acceptance criteria with Product and Engineering and translate them into AI-executable test specifications.
  • Release Notes & User Communication: Precisely describe new features for our users and maintain the in-app what's new screen — AI-supported, editorially responsible.

Your Profile

  • AI tooling at a professional level: Daily and productive use of Claude, Cursor & Co. Own prompts/agents that perform real work — not just code completion.
  • Excellent programming skills: Read and write code, Git, Terminal, CI basics — you can confidently dive into foreign codebases.
  • Engineering mindset: You think in systems, not tickets. Solutions that scale — and you measure whether they do.
  • Studies: Enrolled student, ideally in Computer Science / Business Informatics or a related field.
  • Languages: Very good German, good English — our labs in the USA work in English.

What we offer

  • Real responsibility: A test pipeline that runs in real clinics, not a sandbox.
  • AI-first work environment: Best AI tools and licenses, a team that takes AI seriously.
  • Flexible: Hamburg, Freiburg or remote; working hours follow lecture schedule & exams.
  • Steep learning curve: AI Engineering, Test Automation, and HealthTech.
  • Meaningfulness: You relieve pathologists of their workload.
