Role and Responsibilities

As an IBM Client Engineering Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for driving IBM sales execution by ensuring pilot platforms are engineered to deliver customer technical and business outcomes. You will work closely with other Client Engineering roles to deploy the foundation for comprehensive pilot solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with Pilot Platform Deployment: Learn to deploy pilot platforms that meet customer technical and business needs, and explore ways to improve deployment of Client Engineering pilots.
• Explore Hybrid Cloud Solutions: Observe and learn about deploying solutions across Hybrid Cloud, including OpenShift and the hypervisors/cloud providers on which it runs, as well as managed offerings, such as ROKS, ROSA & ARO.
• Support Solution Delivery: Participate in delivering comprehensive pilot solutions by collaborating with other Client Engineering roles.
• Engage with DevOps and MLOps Practices: Learn about deploying watsonx and other IBM strategic software across the Hybrid Cloud using DevOps and MLOps practices.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• As we work in a German speaking market: German is required as C1/C2
• Exposure to Hybrid Cloud: Familiarity with Hybrid Cloud concepts, including OpenShift and the hypervisors/cloud providers on which it runs, as well as managed offerings, such as ROKS, ROSA & ARO.
• Basic Understanding of DevOps and MLOps: Interest in deploying software across the Hybrid Cloud using DevOps and MLOps practices.
• Interest in Solution Delivery: Curiosity about delivering comprehensive pilot solutions and collaborating with other Client Engineering roles.
• Familiarity with Cloud Platforms: Exposure to cloud platforms and their role in meeting customer technical and business needs.
• Awareness of IBM Strategic Software: Basic understanding of IBM strategic software, such as watsonx, and its deployment across the Hybrid Cloud.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Deep Knowledge of Hybrid Cloud: Exposure to advanced Hybrid Cloud concepts, including architecture and deployment of complex solutions. Familiarity with multiple cloud providers and their integration with OpenShift. Understanding of managed offerings beyond ROKS, ROSA, and ARO.
• Advanced DevOps and MLOps Practices: Basic understanding of automating software deployment and management using DevOps and MLOps practices. Interest in exploring continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
• Familiarity with IBM Strategic Software Deployment: Curiosity about deploying and managing IBM strategic software, such as watsonx, across multiple Hybrid Cloud environments.
