Trigyn's direct client has a CONTRACT TO HIRE opportunity (Temp to Perm full time) for Workday Business Analyst in Baltimore, MD (HYBRID). The candidate will be the primary liaison between financial departments and the technical Workday team. Responsible for gathering, analyzing, documenting, and translating business requirements into functional Workday specifications, ensuring alignment with operational, policy, and compliance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and documentation reviews to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements from various stakeholders.
  • Analyze existing business processes and document 'As-Is' and 'To-Be' processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and automation within the Workday environment.
  • Perform gap analysis between current business requirements and Workday's standard functionality, proposing configuration or custom solutions.
  • Translate approved business requirements into detailed Workday functional specifications for configuration, security, reporting, and integration development.
  • Support Workday Financial modules configuration based on functional specifications.
  • Develop and execute test plans, coordinate user acceptance testing, and execute functional testing to ensure solutions meet requirements and are defect-free.
  • Monitor and triage Workday support tickets, providing issue resolution and guidance for Tier 2 financial tickets.
  • Communicate process changes and system updates effectively to end-users and management as a change agent.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including user manuals and training guides; conduct training sessions for end-users and functional owners.
  • Participate in review and testing of Workday's semi-annual feature releases, identifying impacts and coordinating adoption of new features.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst working with the Workday ERP platform.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Workday Financials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis, modeling, and visualization using Excel, Power BI, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and project management tools such as JIRA and SolarWinds.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of Workday core functionality and ability to configure core financial modules.
  • Strong understanding of data security principles including business process and domain security policies, role assignments, inherited security, segregation of duties, especially for financial transactions and PII in a government context.

Preferred Certifications

  • Workday Pro certification in a relevant functional area (e.g., Financials, Financial Reporting).
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent certification.
