Business Systems focuses on acting as a liaison between the business/end users and IT systems development teams for business needs requiring IT‑based solutions, including: identifying and analyzing business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives; making recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology; researching business requirements and documenting the relationships between the components of the application system (i.e., end users, business processes, data, applications, and devices); translating business requirements into application requirements. Bachelor's degree, 5‑7 years of related professional experience.
Summary
The Workday HCM Business Systems Analyst performs a wide range of activities that support the optimal use, functioning and data integrity of Workday. Residing within the Human Resources (HR) department and working closely with the IT Department, the position liaises across the HR teams to provide user support and education as well as feedback, analysis and reporting on data, workflow and system functionality for strategic business planning and decision‑making.
Essential Functions
HR Technology Production Support
- Support all enhancements as part of the production support team
- Workday, or other HR technologies, configuration for projects and/or production support
- Perform testing activities to ensure development/configuration work meets user requirements, such as functional testing, end‑user testing, developing testing criteria to drive test script
- Provide and support ad‑hoc reports as needed
- Complete data audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of HRIS information
- Research and resolve issues and errors related to data transfers from HRIS to other K12 systems or vendors, including benefit providers
- Partner with the IT Department in the design and development of system interfaces to support systems interoperability
- Facilitate and assist with project management of people‑related programs and initiatives, such as annual performance assessments, talent review and compensation planning
- Complete user access audits to ensure HR data is appropriately restricted
- Execute bulk employee changes via EIB
Product Area Owner
- Develop trusted relationships with stakeholders in HR and IT to understand their requirements and drive them towards adapting best practices and features
- Maintain expertise on new functionality/features/capabilities in Workday, wider industry, and technology trends
- Analyze current business processes and make recommendations for improvement based on industry trends and professional business knowledge
- Improve training and operational procedures to increase efficiency and productivity
- Champion recommendations for continuous improvement, including using technologies such as AI to give Stride a competitive advantage through its deployment of Workday
HR Technology Implementations
- Implement new systems and conduct user training in the use and features of systems and applications and other areas as needed (requirements, configurations, testing, training)
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Applications such as MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Visio
- Process improvement, ability to prioritize, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication, auditing and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of human resources policies, procedures, and practices; keeps abreast of current trends and changes in HR/people & culture technology
- Deep subject‑matter expertise of at least one module of Workday HCM, including upgrades/new features management
- Delivery‑focused, with high energy and drive, and ability to deliver working with IT
- Creative solutioning and strong problem‑solving skills with agility for fast and simple solutions
- Experience providing production support of HR Technology solutions, such as solving longer‑running user issues; troubleshoots independently based on knowledge of application
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to clear required background check
- Two (2) years of Workday configuration specific experience
- Five (5) years HRIS/IT experience, HR application analysis/support experience and working with data, business process design and documentation
- Certificates and Licenses: None required
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, computer science, or related field or equivalent combination of education
- Project management experience
- Experience with UKG Pro
- Remote work; open to residents of the 50 states and D.C.
Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated salary range: $69,906.75 to $100,000.00 (offers typically in the bottom half of the range)
- Eligible employees may receive a bonus (salary not guaranteed; varies based on geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions)
- Robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off
- Position is at‑will; employment terms may only be changed in writing signed by an authorized officer
