Ab Initio Developer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows using Ab Initio (GDE, Co>Op, EME, and Conduct>It).
• Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and optimize Ab Initio graphs, plans, and continuous flows for large-scale data processing.
• Implement data quality, data profiling, and metadata management best practices.
• Support and maintain existing Ab Initio applications by troubleshooting issues, tuning performance, and ensuring reliability.
• Work with SQL, Unix/Linux scripts, and databases (e.g., Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, DB2).
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and deployment processes.
• Ensure data security and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile / DevOps environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of hands-on experience with Ab Initio tools (GDE, Co>Op System, EME, Express>It, Conduct>It).
• Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data modeling, and data warehousing architectures.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database management systems.
• Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and job scheduling tools.
