Description of Work

  • Oversee the accounting, reporting, and payment processes.
  • Manage payroll deductions, benefits, settlements, and deceased payments for various agencies.
  • Accurately distribute funds exceeding $5.6 billion annually.
  • Ensure compliance of payroll taxes for Federal, State and Local authorities.
  • File returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Reconcile W-2c's and W-3c's.
  • Handle correspondence and distribution of applicable form 1099's.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: Opportunity to work from home full-time with occasional in-office days when work dictates; must have secure high-speed internet and work from approved location inside Pennsylvania.
  • Option to report to headquarters office in Harrisburg if unable to telework.
  • Salary may be non-negotiable in some cases.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Qualifications

  • One year as an Accountant 2 (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal Government job title); or
  • Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience and graduation from a four-year college or university including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting; or
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may substitute for college graduation.
  • Master's degree in Accounting or related field may substitute for one year of general work experience.
  • Must meet PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
