Salary

Salary Range: $35,600 – $55,000

Position Summary

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for carrying out various accounting functions of Property Accounting based on a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Routine functions may include, but are not limited to, recording journal entries, account reconciliations, and the preparation of accounting schedules and financial reporting. The Accounting Analyst reconciles expenditures related to construction projects across the general ledger and eBuilder.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • At least two (2) years of directly related experience in general accounting or specialized property accounting
  • Experience in recording journal entries, account reconciliations, and the preparation of accounting schedules and financial reporting
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong organization and time‑management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare Excel worksheets, analysis, and general‑ledger account reconciliations
  • Capacity to develop excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret data
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of audiences, including functional and technical peers and the University community
  • General understanding of capitalization of property, plant, and equipment
  • Aptitude to learn and utilize automated accounting and reporting systems

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Banner fixed asset and space utilization for financial statement allocations

Work Arrangement

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on‑campus and remote). The duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
