AI & ML Engineer

We are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing, deep-tech company based in Zürich at the forefront of applied AI and autonomous systems. Already in production and scaling rapidly, they are looking for experienced AI & ML Engineers to strengthen their core engineering team.

Your role

You will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of machine learning systems in a highly applied, real-world environment covering the full lifecycle from data infrastructure and model training to system integration and production release. You will work at the intersection of research and engineering, with tangible impact from day one.

Your key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable ML pipelines and data infrastructure
• Research, train and fine-tune models including imitation learning and reinforcement learning approaches
• Own and evolve cloud-based data platforms covering ingestion, labeling, versioning, and compliance
• Integrate learning-based methods into production software stacks
• Collaborate with cross-functional R&D, Product and Data teams
• Drive engineering best practices: CI/CD, versioning, modularity, testability
• Contribute to prototype, qualification and real-world system testing
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team leadership when relevant

Who you are

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• 3–7+ years of hands-on experience in ML, MLOps, or data engineering
• Strong Python skills and solid command of standard ML frameworks
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerisation, or CI/CD pipelines
• Comfortable working from research prototype through to production deployment
• Autonomous, collaborative, and able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent in English
