AI Automation & Integration Engineer

About the role

We are a fast-growing, institutionally backed real estate lending company looking for a driven and technically sharp AI Automation & Integration Engineer to transform how we operate. This is a ground-floor opportunity to embed yourself in every corner of our business — from loan origination and processing to compliance, underwriting, closing, and investor communications — and rebuild those workflows using cutting-edge AI tools, APIs, and agentic automation.

You won't be handed a spec sheet. You'll learn how we work, identify the friction, and engineer the solutions. If you've ever wanted to own an AI transformation from day one, this is it.

What you'll do

• Immerse yourself in all operational departments — origination, loan processing, underwriting, compliance, closing, servicing, and investor reporting — to deeply understand workflows
• Design, build, and deploy agentic AI pipelines that automate repetitive, rule-based, and document-heavy tasks using LLM APIs (Gemini, Anthropic, etc.)
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing or recommended platforms (LOS, CRM, document management) via REST APIs, webhooks, OpenClaw, and custom connectors
• Build intelligent document processing systems for mortgage applications, disclosures, title documents, and compliance files
• Create automated communication workflows (email, SMS, notifications) powered by AI for borrower and other interactions
• Develop dashboards and monitoring tools so the business can track automation performance and ROI
• Collaborate with leadership to prioritize automation opportunities by impact and feasibility
• Stay current on AI tooling, frameworks, and industry regulations to ensure compliant, responsible automation

What we're looking for

• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript; comfortable building backend services and scripts
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (Claude, Gemini, etc.) and prompt engineering
• Experience building agentic or multi-step AI workflows (LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or similar)
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations
• Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n, or custom equivalents)
• Excellent communication skills — you can explain what you're building to non-technical stakeholders
• Self-starter mindset: you identify the problem before anyone asks you to
• Bonus: experience in mortgage, lending, real estate, or any regulated financial industry
• Bonus: familiarity with document AI tools (Azure Document Intelligence, AWS Textract, etc.)
