AI / Data Engineer

We’re partnering with multiple organizations in the KC metro area looking to bring on AI / Data Engineers to support growing data and analytics initiatives. These roles sit at the intersection of data engineering, cloud platforms, and emerging AI capabilities, helping teams build scalable data pipelines and enable advanced analytics and machine learning.

This is an opportunity to work with modern tech stacks, move away from legacy tools, and have a direct impact on how data is leveraged across the business.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Work with structured and unstructured data across multiple sources
• Develop and optimize data models for analytics and reporting
• Partner with analytics, business, and engineering teams to deliver data solutions
• Support AI/ML initiatives by preparing and integrating data for models
• Improve data quality, governance, and performance across platforms
• Contribute to cloud data architecture and best practices

Core Tech Stack

• Cloud: Microsoft Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Fabric a plus)
• Languages: SQL, Python
• Data Tools: ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, data lakes
• Visualization: Power BI or similar tools
• Other: API integrations, automation, and workflow orchestration

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
• Strong experience with Azure data ecosystem (or comparable cloud platforms)
• Solid SQL and Python skills
• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines and architectures
• Exposure to AI/ML workflows or interest in working in that space
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Nice to Have

• Experience with Databricks or Spark
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric
• Background in data governance or data quality initiatives
• Experience migrating from legacy systems (SSIS, SSRS, etc.)
