Position Overview
As a Junior AI Data Scientist, you will support business areas including Merchandising, Allocations, Marketing, IT and Supply Chain Analytics teams with insights gained from analyzing Burlington and external data. Must be passionate about building AI-driven solutions beyond traditional machine learning models. This role focuses on applied Artificial Intelligence including Generative AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), intelligent automation, and AI-powered decision systems to enhance retail operations and customer experiences. Must have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills & strong written and verbal communication skills. Burlington is committed to being an employer of choice. A Day In The Life
- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization including Merchandising, Allocations, Marketing, IT and Supply Chain Analytics to assist in developing and implementing AI-powered solutions
- Mine and analyze structured and unstructured data from the data warehouse
- Support prompt engineering and optimization for large language models (LLMs)
- Integrate AI services via APIs and cloud AI platforms
- Keep up to date with latest technology trends
- Work closely with senior data scientists to expand technical and functional knowledge as well as apply best practices
- Coordinate with different functional teams to identify AI automation opportunities
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear business recommendations
You'll Come With
- Bachelor’s degree in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
- 0–2 years of experience in AI, data analytics, or related technical role
- Knowledge in Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI model evaluation concepts
- Exposure to cloud AI platforms (Azure AI, AWS AI services, or GCP Vertex AI)
- 2+ years Data Science experience with extensive background in building ML models, data mining and statistical analysis
