AI Engineer

Role Overview:

One of our start-up clients is looking for an AI Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience through Senior/Staff level to join our founding team. We are looking for an owner, not a task-taker, who has strong opinions and has built and shipped AI agents in a production environment. This person will be crucial in setting the foundation for our product and will have a clear path for growth into leadership roles.

What will you be doing?

• Build and own the AI investigation agent, the centerpiece of our platform, which diagnoses issues by traversing relationship topology and generates remediation workflows.
• Develop a query agent that translates natural language into structured queries against our semantic layer.
• Build production evaluation frameworks to ensure our systems are working effectively and own the feedback loops.
• Create retrieval and reasoning pipelines on top of complex, multi-source enterprise data (MDMs, vulnerability scanners, ticketing systems, etc.).
• Work directly with our large, publicly-traded enterprise design partners to understand their problems and ship solutions quickly.

Seniority

• 2 - 8 years of experience building and shipping AI agents in production.

Work experience

• Shipped production AI agents at a Series A+ company where it is part of the core product (e.g., Harvey, Ramp, Decagon, Sierra, or equivalent enterprise AI teams at Palantir, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
• Able to opine on evals, metrics, and what breaks in production
• Ex-founder

Education

• Top CS school (e.g., Waterloo, MIT, Cornell)

Hard skills

• AI native: Integration of AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, v0) into everyday workflows
• Python; experience building on top of LLMs in production

Soft skills

• Strong communicator as every member of the team is expected to be customer-facing

Miscellaneous

• Based in or willing to relocate to NYC or Miami.
• Active side projects or high engagement in the AI community.

$180K - $240K
