AI Multiple Roles (Engineer, Senior Engineer, Lead/Principle)

About the role

Working with teams across the business to identify valuable AI use cases, build POCs, and work with partners to get new models into production. As a Data Scientist you will join a team of developers at the leading edge of AI implementation, building new models and applications that can transform the business. You will work closely with business users to understand their needs and priorities, with the autonomy to come up with novel solutions, always supported by an experienced team. While we are connected to AI teams across the organisation, you will be expected to explore and test options including new technologies and approaches as well as existing in-house applications. The team is part of a wider Data Strategy and Analytics group, giving you access to resources for ideation, data processing, and modelling. What you bring is the enthusiasm to understand business problems and the tenacity to solve them using your data science skills

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning and artificial intelligence models to address business problems
• Explore options from the UHG AI ecosystems, as well as new technologies
• Document your process and solution to the standards required by the Artificial Intelligence Review Board
• Engage directly with users to understand their use cases and requirements
• Collaborate with data strategy and IT partners to access data sources and modelling tools

Required Qualifications

• Degree (BA, BSc) completed in a relevant field (data science, analytics, mathematics, economics, business, statistics, engineering, or finance) or equivalent experience
• Proficient in Python for supervised or unsupervised model development
• Experience of generative AI tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience of agentic AI tools
• Experience with Azure Cloud services and Databricks
• Experience with Agile development methodology
• Experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
