Your daily life

Our teams in the Infrastructure Network Systems activity are present in Lambersart, a site located ten minutes from the Lille metropolis, and provide global services and solutions that optimize the performance, resilience, and security of defense systems.

Within the Customer Support and Service domain, and as part of service operation projects, you will join a dynamic team responsible for providing software solutions for Thales employees.

These solutions cover a wide functional scope, from project management and financial management to Datacenter operation and maintenance, and directly contribute to the company's operational performance.

In this team, you will join the IT Infrastructure Squad, specializing in hosting the solutions delivered within the service, and you will participate in the migration project to S3NS: Thales' sovereign cloud based on Google technologies.

Your missions

As an IT Cloud Engineer Intern, you will participate in "Go To S3NS", whose objective is to migrate a production and development environment currently based on VMs and containers on physical servers, to the S3NS environment: a Thales sovereign cloud designed from Google GCP technologies.

Your activities will include participating in:

  • Conducting an inventory of applications and services to be migrated
  • Defining the best migration solutions (technology isolation, technology change) integrating cost, deadline, operational ROI, and FinOps considerations
  • Defining the migration strategy
  • Carrying out preparatory work for migration (technological updates, automation, procedures…)
  • Performing the migration
  • Operating and optimizing the migrated system, taking into account service quality, security, operational efficiency, and technical debt
  • Documenting procedures, technical architectures, and proposing improvements to facilitate future operations.

Your profile

  • Studying for a Master's degree in an engineering school or equivalent, are you looking for an apprenticeship in IT Cloud?

Required skills:

  • General knowledge of IT infrastructure, physical and Cloud
  • Fundamentals of systems and network administration (Linux/Windows)
  • Rigor, attention to detail, and a questioning mindset.
  • Team spirit.
  • Professional English (reading and simple exchanges).

Desired skills:

  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Agile and DevOps culture
  • GCP
