Position Overview

The AML/KYC Analyst conducts formal “due diligence” reviews & research on CIBC Mellon’s clients and prospects, ensuring appropriate ‘Know Your Customer’ (KYC) protocol is maintained in compliance with Anti Money Laundering (AML) regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs AML KYC research and due diligence reviews on new prospects and existing client relationships using various vendor-based specialized search systems, tools & products and through advanced and sophisticated internet-based search processes and relevant websites
• Opens and prepares complete and accurate business customer profile files including reviewing existing business customer profiles based on prescribed quality assurance methods
• Maintains client’s KYC files ensuring completeness of the files and adherence to policies and procedures as well as updating the KYC database to ensure that records are accurate, timely and adhere to CIBC Mellon data integrity and functionality standards
• Participates in the formal testing processes of new systems/tools or changes to existing systems/tools while tracking, monitoring and taking appropriate action on requests received through the AML KYC mailbox.
• Supports relationship management functions and teams , specifically providing the teams with notification of clients pending due diligence reviews and ensuring resolution of outstanding issues or actions
• Collaborates with various CIBC Mellon business lines and their internal corporate compliance teams by advising them on outstanding related issues and associated policy development to ensure a consistent understanding of KYC processes, policies and procedures
• Interacts with other departments, as necessary, to ensure consistency in understanding and requirements from a KYC perspective.

Qualifications

• University education (graduate)
• 2-3 years experience in a AML KYC or compliance role; financial services industry
• Knowledge of CIBC Mellon’s product/service offering
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; data analytics using Excel and reporting using PowerPoint
• Proficiency in advanced Internet search techniques
• Knowledge of legal documentation (e.g. contacting documents)

Job Specific Competencies

• The base salary range for this position is between $60,000 - $91,000 dependent on relevant experience.
