About the role
Your role in the team
As the central control unit of VHV Allgemeine, we serve as an impulse generator and partner for the actuarial departments. Our self-image includes continuous development of processes and tools. To strengthen our team, we are looking for an analytically strong team member (m/f/d) to advance actuarial management through expertise in Data Analytics, Reporting, and Quantitative Analysis.
Responsibilities
- Independent work: In coordination with the actuarial departments, you will prepare projections and plans from new business to the combined ratio for selected composite lines and bear responsibility for the monthly reporting.
- Further development of insurance technical reporting: With your analytical mindset and your expertise in Data Analytics, you will significantly contribute to the continuous improvement of our reporting, including the development of modern dashboards in Power BI.
- Data-driven analyses: You create and implement analyses related to business performance in selected composite lines and derive impulses for actuarial management from them.
- Topic responsibility: You independently handle topics from concept development to preparation and presentation at management level.

Our expectations:
Qualifications
- Passion for Controlling: Enthusiasm for working with numbers and the drive to understand and optimize new and existing processes.
- Analytical skills: You recognize complex interrelationships, analyze them carefully, and present them understandably.
Experience
- Data Modeling: You enjoy working with data and ideally have experience in Data Analytics, for example with tools like Python, R, SQL, or Dataiku.
- IT Skills: You have programming knowledge as well as practical experience with databases. Additionally, you have experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and are familiar with SAP.
Education
- Degree: Degree in Business Administration / Computer Science, Mathematics, or a comparable field with a focus on quantitative methods.
- Additional qualification: A completed apprenticeship as an insurance and finance clerk (m/f/d) with relevant professional experience is advantageous.
