Application Engineer : Quantum ATK

About the team

Synopsys Quantum ATK – a leading software platform for atomic‑scale materials modeling and simulation. You will join a global team of customer‑facing materials science experts that drives customer success with atomistic modelling and industry‑relevant applications.

What you’ll do

• Provide high‑quality scientific and technical support to customers using QuantumATK
• Partner with internal stakeholders and customers in high‑tech industries (semiconductors, automotive, energy, etc.) to understand use cases, troubleshoot issues, and drive successful outcomes
• Develop and maintain application examples, workflows, and best‑practice guides
• Collaborate with R&D and product teams by bringing customer needs and feedback into roadmap and feature discussions
• Contribute to enablement activities such as webinars and training

What you bring (required)

• Solid foundation in solid‑state physics and/or chemistry: a degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field
• Strong background in atomic‑scale materials modelling and simulation
• Practical Python skills for scripting, analysis, and workflow automation
• Proficiency communicating complex technical topics in English (written and verbal)

Nice to have

• Experience working directly with industrial customers in a technical role (support, field, pre‑sales, or similar)
• Track record of building reusable examples, tutorials, or scientific software workflows
