Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer II with strong experience in Payments platforms, Postilion, Azure cloud technologies, and incident response to support mission‑critical transaction processing systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, resilience, scalability, and security of our Postilion‑based payment switching environment across both on‑premise and cloud‑enabled infrastructures. This position requires technical depth in software engineering, hands‑on troubleshooting in high‑availability payments environments, and practical experience operationalizing workloads in Microsoft Azure.
Responsibilities
Payments & Postilion Platform
- Support and enhance Postilion Office, Realtime, EFTSwitch and payment integrations including ISO8583, host interfaces, and downstream system connectivity.
- Troubleshoot realtime transaction issues involving routing logic, interchange connectivity, authorization processing, and settlement.
- Develop and deploy Postilion configuration changes, scripts, and platform enhancements within established SDLC processes.
Incident Response & Operations
- Lead and contribute to incident response for Postilion and payment‑related production issues, ensuring rapid restoration of services.
- Perform root cause analysis on transaction declines, latency issues, interface outages, or switching failures.
- Build and maintain incident response playbooks that cover both on‑prem and Azure‑hosted components.
DevOps, Cloud & Automation
- Work with development and operations teams to modernize and migrate components of the payments ecosystem toward Azure‑based services where applicable.
- Implement, support, and optimize Azure services such as:
- Azure VMs, Azure App Services
- Azure SQL Database / Managed SQL Instances
- Azure Storage, Key Vault, Event Hub, Service Bus
- Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) for deployments, configuration automation, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Implement IaC using tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, or PowerShell.
- Ensure secure cloud operations aligned with PCI DSS, internal security policies, and cloud security best practices.
Security, Compliance & Reliability
- Collaborate with security teams to integrate secure development and deployment processes.
- Enhance observability in both payments and cloud environments by advancing monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and automated response mechanisms.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Mentor junior engineers and help build cloud, payments, and Postilion capability within the team.
- Stay up‑to‑date on trends in global payments, Postilion technologies, Azure innovations, and industry best practices.
Basic Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant training or certifications in Microsoft technologies or payment platforms.
Core Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in realtime systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail‑oriented with strong initiative and ownership.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years in software development, production support, or platform engineering.
- Experience with:
- Postilion or similar payments platforms (highly preferred).
- C#, ASP.NET, XML, Web Services (SOAP/REST).
- SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, TSQL, and stored procedures.
- Azure compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and DevOps tools.
- CI/CD, version control, automated deployments.
- Full SDLC lifecycle and enterprise‑grade application support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Direct experience with EFT switching, ISO8583, card payments, or financial transaction processing.
- Certifications such as Azure Administrator, Azure Developer, Azure Solutions Architect, GCIH, CISSP, or Postilion‑specific credentials.
- Experience containerizing workloads and managing Kubernetes clusters, preferably AKS.
- Knowledge of SIEM tooling, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
- Experience architecting or operating payment systems in cloud‑hybrid infrastructures.
