About Us
At the Airbus Helicopters Drone Center in Aix-en-Provence, born from the merger of Survey Copter and Airbus Helicopters, we design, manufacture, and maintain light tactical drone systems for military and civilian missions. We cover the entire lifecycle of these systems, offering everyone the opportunity to contribute fully to concrete technological projects.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of the Airbus group since 2011, it is the drone expertise center of Airbus Helicopters, located in Pierrelatte (its parent company) and Aix les Milles.

What we can accomplish together:
Within the Engineering Department, your main missions will be:
- Gather, analyze, and break down requirements from stakeholder needs or higher-level requirements, throughout successive levels of system decomposition.
- Ensure the correct articulation of system and software requirements.
- Lead the writing of requirements that meet quality criteria, avoiding over-specification or under-specification.
- Manage requirement changes, including impact analysis and establishing baselines.
- Define, develop, and adapt the software architecture and technical solution corresponding to our product needs.
- Document the justification for the definition and design.
- Lead the development of software elements, in accordance with the required development processes.
- Analyze and process technical facts and bugs reported.
- Lead the implementation of unit tests for software functionalities.
- Verify the correct and complete implementation of requirements at the equipment, sub-system, and component levels.
- Participate in assigned projects, interfacing with other project stakeholders.
- Participate in software integration tests with higher-level components.
- Interact with external suppliers.
Who you are:
With a Bac+5 degree in Engineering or a Master's degree specializing in computer science, electronics, or a related field, you have at least 7 years of experience in the industry.
What we recognize in you:
- Your knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and Linux and MS Windows 11 distributions.
- Standards and Certification: Experience with ED-12/DO-178 certification or other industrial standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262...) would be highly appreciated.
- Your mastery of configuration management processes and tools (e.g., SVN, Git, ClearCase...), as well as continuous integration processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- Development of real-time embedded software (C, Python, Apache Kafka, GO...), user interfaces (Electron, QT...), and applications including Artificial Intelligence.
- Your confirmed experience with software running on multi-core architectures.
- Methodologies: Good knowledge of Agile methodologies (rituals, roles).
- Your rigor, open-mindedness, team spirit, and understanding of complex environments.
- Your professional English.
