Job Description and Role Responsibilities

Automation Engineer (Python/Selenium Focus) - Tokyo

Would you like to help us improve operational efficiency at Dassault Systèmes' Tokyo office within the Worldwide Automation Team (part of the Sales Business Administration Organization / Finance Team)?

We manage customer data, order approvals, license key issuance, and other operations using Oracle PeopleSoft's Order-to-Cash (OTC) system. As this system has limited automation capabilities, we actively automate manual and repetitive tasks using tools such as UiPath (RPA), Python, Selenium, VBA, and Large Language Models.

We are currently seeking individuals skilled in Python and Selenium implementation. Initially, you will focus on cost-effective automation using Python/Selenium, and gradually transition to creating UiPath specification documents and acting as a liaison between the IS team and development teams in India. (Local development licenses for UiPath are available, but not immediately required).

Main Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of automation scripts using Python (primarily web/UI automation with Selenium)
• Interviewing business departments to understand automation needs and creating technical specifications and prototypes
• Local implementation of new automation (Python / Selenium / UiPath in the future)
• Maintenance and updates of existing code (Python, VBA, RPA scripts)
• Collaboration with the development team in India (explaining specifications, reviews)
• Coordination of business workflows with the operations team in Paris
• Continuous improvement with a KPI focused on increasing overall automation rate

Qualifications

• Practical experience with Python (automation, script creation, etc.)
• Practical experience with browser automation using Selenium (or strong interest and willingness to learn)
• Ability to understand complex internal systems (e.g., ERP/OTC) and translate them into automation solutions
• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English communication (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Graduation from a science or engineering faculty, or equivalent foundational knowledge
• 2-5 years of practical development experience (mid-level)

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

• Experience with RPA tools (e.g., UiPath)
• Experience with VBA and Excel automation
• Interest in automation using Large Language Models (LLM)
