We are looking for a passionate Automation & Systems Engineer eager to build bridges between plant cell biology, lab automation and imaging systems — someone who has a strong systems engineering background, used to work in a multi-disciplinary team, and will enjoy cracking the "black box" of plant cell biology.

Your Mission

Partner with teammates in the Engineering Team and Cell Biology Team to spec, design, build, and test custom hardware and software solutions for plant cell culture, integrating optical imaging hardware with robotics.

What we’re looking for

Technical Qualifications & Experience

• MSc or PhD in automation & systems engineering, mechatronics, or a related field with 3-5+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in software development (Python) for hardware automation.
• Proficiency in CAD and rapid prototyping (CNC, 3D printing, laser cutting).
• Hands-on prior experience in designing, building, and testing automated systems.
• Experience in computer vision, cell biology or microscopy is a plus.

Personal Attributes & Communication

• Motivated and self-driven, with a proactive, “can-do” mentality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment.
• Strong teamwork, rigor, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English (C1 minimum); French is a bonus, not a requirement.
