Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Corporate Financial Reporting, including regulatory, reinsurance, and financial reporting for Property & Casualty.
  • Manage external reporting functions, including consolidated financial statements, MDNA, and press releases.
  • Provide expertise in technical accounting, preparing memos and addressing new accounting standards.
  • Manage the accounting for a winding-up entity and sustainability reporting.
  • Lead a team of seven direct reports and approximately 40-50 staff members.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, managing audit challenges and accounting treatments.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership within the finance department.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation is required
  • Demonstrated experience in the insurance industry, with a deep understanding of IFRS 17 changes.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, ideally with experience from public accounting.
  • Strong leadership experience, capable of managing a large team and prioritizing multiple tasks effectively.
  • A level-headed personality with strong influencing and collaborative skills.
