Data Architect Job Description
Experience Required: 12+ Years
Must Have Experience
- Strong experience in technical leadership for architecture, design, and engineering
- Experience modernizing legacy Data Ingestion, ETL, and databases to Public Cloud (AWS) and Big Data platforms
- Strong understanding of AWS cloud components: Compute, Storage, Data services, Serverless compute
- Experience delivering end-to-end ETL and infrastructure architecture solutions
- Experience defining technical direction and roadmap for cloud migration initiatives
- Hands-on experience with: AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, AWS EMR, Amazon Redshift (Data Warehousing)
- Experience designing, developing, or maintaining Big Data applications
- Ability to build scalable, high-performance, extensible solutions
- Ability to create POCs, demos, and reusable components
- Minimum 5 years experience in: Data Warehousing, Modern Data Lake architecture
- Minimum 5 years experience with Big Data technologies: Hadoop, Apache Spark, Hive, Kafka, HBase / MongoDB
- Expertise in performance tuning and optimization
- Experience handling Terabyte to Petabyte scale data
- Experience implementing DevOps and Agile practices
Secondary Skills (Good To Have)
- Programming knowledge in: Scala, Python, Java
- Knowledge of Presto
- Conceptual understanding of Data Lake and ETL
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake)
- Hands-on experience with: Spark (Python/Scala), SQL
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in self-directed and team environments
- Willingness to explore and work with cloud technologies
Roles & Responsibilities
- Propose solution architectures and manage deployment of cloud-based big data and analytics solutions
- Review and validate client requirements and product specifications
- Create architecture artifacts: Design documents, Diagrams, STTM, HLD / LLD
- Architect, design, and implement data solutions in Public Cloud (AWS/Azure)
- Work closely with customers and internal teams to gather requirements
- Analyze and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements
Compensation
In compliance with the salary transparency law, the expected pay range for this role is $70-75. Actual compensation depends on experience and interview evaluation.
