Azure Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Azure cost and architecture optimization.
• Plan and govern selective workload migration from Azure to AWS where it reduces total cost of ownership.
• Review Azure estate (compute, storage, data services, networking, and observability).
• Identify Azure-native cost levers: reservations, savings plans, Hybrid Benefit, autoscale, B-series, and Spot.
• Lead Azure-to-AWS migration planning, including dependency mapping and risk assessment.
• Coordinate with the AWS Architect on landing zone consistency post-migration.
• Provide recommendations on Azure-specific licensing optimization.

Required Skills

• Expert Azure across IaaS, PaaS, AKS, App Services, Azure SQL, Synapse, and Databricks.
• Azure Cost Management + Billing, Azure Advisor, and Azure Migrate.
• Cross-cloud migration patterns and tools: CloudEndure, AWS MGN, and Azure Migrate.
• Knowledge of MongoDB Atlas and Databricks cost levers.
• Networking: ExpressRoute, VNet peering, and hybrid connectivity.

Qualifications & Certifications

• 10+ years cloud experience, 6+ years on Azure.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (required).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (required for migration scope).
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate preferred.
