Azure Data Engineer - 18 month contract

This role is part of a leading startup program team in the UAE, engaging early‑stage and growth‑stage startups through technology support, business enablement, capacity building, and mentorship, driving their growth locally and globally.

As a Cloud Solution Expert, you will work directly with a diverse portfolio of tech startups to understand their cloud and product needs, provide architectural guidance, and support them in building scalable cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Understand industry trends along with the organization's cloud architecture solutions and those of competitors.
• Highlight the strengths of the organization's cloud offerings compared to competitor solutions to influence startup decision‑making.
• Generate new ideas to improve existing intellectual property, technologies, or processes for assigned startups.
• Share insights and technical recommendations across internal teams and wider technical communities.
• Collaborate with startup technical teams to review cloud architecture, IT ecosystems, and cloud strategies.
• Recommend scalable and supportable controls for cloud computing, including service tiers, monitoring, continuity planning, cost models, and optimization.
• Guide startups in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure.
• Evaluate technical risks and propose mitigation strategies, security architectures, and integrations.
• Engage additional internal/external resources where required to resolve architectural challenges.
• Lead and develop the startup tech community by conducting knowledge‑sharing sessions, training, and coaching on cloud technology benefits.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 4 years of experience in technology, cloud solutions, architecture, consulting, or infrastructure technologies
• Technical Certification in Azure or any major cloud platform

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• 4 years of technical cloud delivery experience
• 2 years of project management experience
• Additional certifications in cloud services (Azure/AWS/GCP)
