Wesel, with around 1,000 employees, is BYK's largest site and has existed since 1962. We offer jobs and apprenticeships in the areas of production, laboratory, IT, and administration. BYK produces additives for the coatings, printing inks, and plastics industries. Our additives are manufactured and tested in Wesel and transported to the fully automated high-bay warehouse in Emmelsum for dispatch. The company has invested a three-digit million euro amount in the Wesel site in recent years – including in a digital laboratory and an award-winning design office building.

Responsibilities

Exciting challenges await you – as a BI Engineer for SAP and Cloud Analytics, you will be responsible for the support and further development of SAP Datasphere as the central consumption layer of the analytics landscape. You will conceptualize, construct, and maintain data models, views, and transformation flows in SAP Datasphere, support and further develop the Azure Databricks environment – including support for data models and pipelines – and analyze and translate business requirements in close coordination with the business units into technical solutions. Furthermore:

• Technical management and coordination of external development partners
• Ensuring data quality, governance standards, and technical documentation across platform boundaries
• Active participation in the further development of the BI architecture and data strategy

Requirements

Convince us with this profile – You have completed a degree or apprenticeship in computer science, business informatics, or data engineering, or have a comparable qualification and professional experience in the BI or data engineering environment? Basic requirements met. You also have solid SQL knowledge and a good understanding of data structures and processes, work in a structured and independent manner, and have a quick grasp of new technologies and platforms? Very good. If you are also strong in communication in German and English and act with a strong team and service orientation, we definitely want to hear from you. Even more so if you can also tick the following optional points:

• In-depth experience in modern data and analytics platforms, especially in the SAP and Azure environment
• Know-how in data modeling and the development of data architectures
• Familiarity with managing external partners and industry knowledge in the manufacturing sector
