Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Business Analyst (Advanced level) to support small to large-scale IT and business transformation projects. The role involves analyzing business needs, documenting requirements, and bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and processes (as-is / to-be)
- Translate business needs into functional specifications
- Support business process redesign and improvement initiatives
- Conduct requirements elicitation, validation, and documentation
- Maintain requirements traceability, version control, and change management
- Analyze data requirements and relationships
- Provide guidance to development and QA teams on requirements
- Identify risks, issues, and solutions proactively
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams
- Support buy vs. build analysis and strategic decision-making
- Maintain documentation repositories for business rules, models, and processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Healthcare, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst on government IT projects
- 5+ years of experience in requirements gathering and business process documentation
- Minimum 3 years of Medicaid or healthcare experience
- Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies and documentation practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Medicaid or healthcare insurance programs
- Familiarity with:
- Microsoft Project / Project Server
- Microsoft DevOps (Azure DevOps)
- Knowledge of business modeling tools and process flow diagrams
